GIPC Officials pays courtesy call on Savannah regional Minister

A delegation of officials from the Ghana investment promotion Centre ( GIPC ) led by Mr Edward Ashong - Lartey has on Monday, 23rd May, 2022 paid a courtesy call on the Savannah regional Minister to familiarize themselves with him and with the regional coordinating council and to also brief them about the GIPC's  sensitisation tour to the region.


According to the Director in charge of investor services at the GIPC, Mr. Edward Ashong - Lartey, the team's visit to the office of the Minister was to seek for his support on the GIPC's sensitization program for business owners  in the region scheduled for Tuesday, 24th May, 2022 at Damongo, the capital of the savannah region.


Mr. Edward Ashong - Lartey explained that, the team's visit to the region is to help them look at local content requirements of potential business investments in the region by lacing with MDA's in other to bring to the doorsteps the services of the GIPC to other parts of the country and to also to let them know how the centre can be of Assistance to the people of the region in their businesses  and to provide  an ideal platform for the identification and compilation of domestic data on various projects and identified investment opportunities in the region for onward presentation to potential investors.


He further explained that, the identified investment opportunities will be profiled and marketed to potential investors and also put into the centres website for anybody in the world to access the information adding that, the centre, when on investment missions carries the projects identified along to market them to potential investors and to as well showcase them to investment delegations that visits the country.


The director in charge of services also said their visit to the region was to ensure that investments relating to economic activities are evenly spread across the country and very hopeful that the seminar will enable them get in touch with the business community, the chiefs and stakeholders of the region.


He urged Ghanaian owned businesses particularly in the Savannah region to register with the GIPC to enjoy the incentives and services which are enjoyed also by foreigners.


The regional information Officer for the savannah regional coordinating council, Mr. Ziblim Mumuni who received the delegation on behalf of the Regional Minister thanked them for their visit to the region adding that,  the Minister appreciates the efforts of the team by trying to showcase the investment opportunities of the region to others parts of the world. 


He added that,  the pack of the GIPC to the region is a wonderful one and assured them of the Minister's support considering the potentials in the region especially on the availability and fertility of land in the area.


Mr. Mumuni further said, it is his hope that the seminar scheduled for Tuesday will expose the to much more investment opportunities to enable the Savannah region catch up with it's parent regions. 

Mr. Edward Ashong - Lartey was in the company of Mr. Paa Kwesi Monney, Michael Agyekum Acheampong, both from the research and business development Division of the GIPC and Abdul Mumin Zakaria ( regional officer for the northern regions).
