The Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Saeed Muhazu Jibril, has on Monday 18th July, 2022 stated that, the government of the NPP led by president Akuffo - Addo has done tremendously well than any other government in the fourth republic in terms of infrastructural development.
The Minister made this statement on Radio for Peace Development ( PADFM's ) Karenyanche super morning show at the Savannah Regional Capital, Damongo hosted by Kumatey Gorden, where the minister outlined a number of ongoing projects springing up across the region under the supervision of the Regional Coordinating Council.
According to him, since the creation of the Savannah Region under the able leadership of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the region has seen several infrastructural development including the construction of a regional office for the Ghana highways Authority and a state of the Art TVET school at Salaga in the East Gonja Municipality, a regional office for the department of feeder roads and the construction of a District Hospital at Daboya in the North Gonja District under agenda 111, the construction of a District Hospital at kpalbe in the North East Gonja District, the construction of a New Regional police command office with attached bungalows among others in the West Gonja Municipality and Bole District, Construction of Regional Agric office and staff bungalows at Bole and several others currently ongoing in the Central Gonja and Sawla Tuna Kalba districts which are being monitored by the Savannah Regional coordinating council.
Again in the East Gonja municipality, the Minister indicated that a 10.5km township roads are being constructed where as a 15.5km township roads asphalting was done in Damongo, the Regional Capital of the Savannah Region.
He however noted that, the Regional Education head office, a Multipurpose Regional Court complex, the Regional Coordinating Council, Health Insurance Head office and the Youth and Employment Authority Head office has been completed with the construction of STEM Senior High school at Busunu in the pipeline.
On the state of the economy, Hon Muazu, explained that a number of complementary and monetary measures are being put in a place by government to address the rising cost of living in the Ghanaian economy adding that, the challenge is as a result of the devastating impact of COVID-19 which distorted global supply chains, and the Russia-Ukraine war.
He assured the people of the Savannah Region that the government is working tiredlessly to come out with bold initiatives coupled with firm leadership to turn things around to the benefit of the Ghanaian citizenry.
The Regional Minister on his part also appealed to the rank and file of the New Patriotic Party to bury their differences after the outcome of the party's national elections inrespective of the camps they belonged to during the just ended National executives elections held in the nation's capital over the weekend.
