The Savannah regional NPP chairman, Alhaji Iddrisu Suleiman, well known as Professor Kalamonia, has called on delegates of the region to vote to retain him as the chairman because there is still huge job to be done by the party in the area.
Speaking to the media after the vetting and balloting, professor Kalamonia said NPP needs consistency in the Savannah region because there is still huge job ahead.
..."this is not just a position to occupy but is a job to be done and I have done a good job. So the delegates from all the seven (7) constituencies should vote for me to make the NPP the biggest party in Savannah region".
I am going for re-election as the regional chairman because I have a mission to complete, that is winning majority seats in the Savannah region of Ghana for the NPP. In the last general elections, the NPP got three (3) out of seven (7) seats in the region and now aiming higher to winning majority seats, he added.
Vetting for the NPP regional executives elections was conducted on Friday, May 20, 2022.
Professor Kalamonia is number one on the ballot for the regional chairmanship race.
Professor Kalamonia further stated that since they were sworn into office some three (3) years ago in the Savannah region, the NPP has been more attractive to the youth, women wings, the elderly, the clergy, Imams and even to the chiefs. All these class of people are happy because the NPP attractively relates well with them with beautiful and practical policies and projects.
On the way forward for the NPP, Professor Kalamonia promised to work and bring on board all candidates who are contesting after the elections on Friday, May 27, 2022.
He said just like he is doing for the all contestants in the constituencies through the constituency executives, he will bring all winners and losers of this coming regional elections together to work harder to get more votes for the NPP.
The Savannah region NPP electoral and research officer, Ayatolai Seidu (Mourinho) called on all candidates to run clean campaign devoid of insults and personal attacks. He said the NPP will need themselves after the internal elections to battle for victory in the 2024 general elections and therefore, should not do anything that will hurt their unity.
