Catholic Relief services launches women empowerment project at Canteen

The Catholic relief services ( CRS ) has launched a three year empowerment project, "Strengthening the Capacity of Religious women in Early childhood development" (SCORE 111 - IMBC/ ECD ) at Canteen, a suburb of Damongo in the west Gonja Municipality of the Savannah region.

The event which took place on Friday, 10th June, 2022 is targeted at promoting healthy living and livelihood empowerment among nursing mothers, pregnant women and couples with the overall goal of supporting the proper upbringing and Early Childhood Development of children in the community.

Canteen is among two other communities selected from the West Gonja Municipality to benefit from this project which runs in five countries.

The Assembly member for the canteen electoral area, Hon. Abraham B. Ananpansah who was given a personal call by the women to be with them throughout the project implementation period due to his responsive/listening demeanor, guidance and commitment for a collective success and development of the area, pledged his full commitment to the successful implementation of the goals of the project as it seeks to secure the future of the children, who are the future leaders of the Canteen Community.

He commended the CRS for considering his electoral area to be a beneficiary of the project and assured them of his readiness to ensuring the successful implementation of the project in the area.
