Damongo Mp connects three farming communities to National Grid for electricity

The Member of parliament ( MP ) for Damongo, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor has on Friday, 24th June, 2022  commissioned some electrification projects to connect three farming communities thus; Sor No.1, Sor No.2 and Sor No. 3 all in the Damongo Constituency to the national grid for electricity.


Addressing the Chiefs and people of the three  Communities at separate events to commission the projects, Hon. Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor emphasized on the importance of having access to electricity which will provide community members  access to basic comfort of lights, fans, charging points for their mobile phone among others.


He explained that, he has fully paid for the cost of all the meters provided to the various households which was coupled with the provision of street lights in the three communities to brighten the area during the night and to also help ease the financial  burden they would have gone through purchasing the meters.


The MP appealed to members of the three communities to remain united for the development of their areas irrespective of the ethnicity.


The chief for Sor No. 3, Kotitowura Jebuni Bakari together with some opinion leaders of Sor No.1 and Sor No 2 communities on behalf of residents and members of the communities expressed their happiness and thanked the MP for fulfilling his campaign promise made to them prior to the 2020 General elections and said, they never anticipated they would have seen electricity power in the area anytime soon.

The electrification project was facilitated by the MP in fulfillment of a request made by the communities prior to the 2020 General elections to connect them to electricity and  executed by Tropical electrical cables and conductors engineering Ltd.

On the road network to the area, the MP disclosed that the road has been awarded to a contractor from Abidjan( cote'd Ivoire) who will be visiting the area soon to access the nature of the road and to begin work subsequently.


He has also disclosed that, grinding mills will be provided to the three communities in the coming weeks to help solve the sufferings the women in the three areas go through in grinding their food stuffs.

He was in the company of the Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Saeed Muazu Jibriel, MCE for the West Gonja Municipal Assembly Hon. Musah Karim Kusubari, DCE for Sawla - Tuna - Kalba, Hon. Barkisu Losina and some constituency executives of the NPP led by the Chairman , Alhaji Adam Braimah.
