Wife of Damongo MP and founder of the Naada foundation, Mrs Naada Abu Jinapor has distributed 960 sanitary pads to young girls in some selected communities in the Damongo constituency.
Presenting the items to the girls on behalf of Mrs Naada Jinapor, the Damongo constituency women organizer of the NPP madam Afisha Jakpa explained that the gesture from the wife of the Member of parliament forms part of activities marking this year's world Sanitary/ menstruation day which was celebrated across the globe on the 28th of May, 2022.
According to the women organizer, the day and the menstrual hygiene of the girls is an important one to young girls in the constituency, a reason for which Mrs Naada Jinapor stepped in with the support to help create their awareness about menstruation and to also provide safe and hygienic practices to the girls in the constituency,
Others communities that also benefited from the gesture were; Soalepe, Bonyanto, Achubunyor, Jonokponto, Mempeasem, Tailorpe and Busunu Township.
Madam Afisha Jakpa used the occasion to encourage the ladies to practice personal hygiene in and around their homes to avoid diseases and also tasked them to take good care of themselves to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
The Young Ladies out of joy, expressed their profound gratitude to Mrs Naada and her husband for the gesture and asked for God's guidance and blessings upon her
Mrs Afisha Jakpa was accompanied by staff of the office of Member of Parliament for Damongo led by Mr. Bawa Fuseini and supported by some Electoral Area Coordinators and Polling Stations Executives in selected communities.
